Painter Sondra Barton returns to the Riverchase Loves Art show on February 3, 2018.

“Painting is my joy! It is the happiness I find in living each day.  Although I have worked with and been inspired by many talented artists I am mostly self taught.  I continue to experiment with texture, color, and mixing mediums aspiring to develop my own unique  style.  I hope to create art that catches the eye and brings forth a smile.”

Artist Preview for the Febuary 3, 2018 RIVERCHASE LOVES ART show. Spotlight on award winning KAMI WATSON – fiber artist.

Screen Shot 2018-01-16 at 11.02.19 PM  A nomadic past with a focus on environmental conservation and humanitarian services has exposed Kami to global influences in design and culture and has fostered her desire to create functional and visual art with an ecological sensitivity.

As a second generation fiber artist, she freely explores the traditional art of wet felting, the fusing of raw fibers into a textile form with soap, water, and agitation, as well as the contemporary techniques of nuno (fabric) and laminate (multi fabric layer) felting.

She combines renewable natural fiber resources, reclaimed silk sari and clothing fabrics, and her own hand dyed silk fabrics and fibers to organically create each of her works of art. She allows the materials she uses, and influences and experiences in her life, past and present, to guide her instinctively in color and design.

An award winning fiber artist, Kami currently resides in Alabama, where she has been creating and teaching in her studio since 2014. Her work is available at juried fine art shows, and in galleries around the United States.

Artist Sneak Preview for the Febuary 3rd RIVERCHASE LOVES ART Show – Helene Fielder – Sculptures

Helene was born in Rive de Geir, France. She became a naturalized American citizen when she was 10. Her path has led through Ohio, Florida, Georgia, Arizona, Slovenia and Germany. She has resided in Booneville Mississippi for the past 15 years where she works out of her on premise studio.  She and Ray, her late husband of 27 years have one son, Mark.

While she has maintained a full time studio for the past eighteen years her experience also includes teaching pottery and silversmith, semi-precious stone carving/polishing, marketing, illustration and advertising.

Her organic sculptures with their varied textures and colors echo the forms and colors of the earth. I love all colors and enjoy observing  forms in our existence here — a seed bursting from the earth, a fish alive with it’s glitter of color, a microscopic pattern.
My wish is that my work transfers these precious miraculous moments of life.

Artist Preview for the RIVERCHASE LOVES ART event … Kendall Boggs

Kendall Boggs

kendallbogg2018-01-15 at 2.06.39 PM … is known as a Southern innovative artist.  While staying “true” to her work, she is constantly evolving and creating new ideas in the art field.  Ten years ago, Kendall gave up a successful interior design business to become a full time painter.  Through that career change,  she has become known throughout the southeast for her peaceful, yet sometime feisty style.  Always using a type of texture in her work, Kendall loves to create movement in her pieces.  Whether it be paste or stain or watercolor or abstract, Kendall creates a dance on her surfaces.  As a wife, mother, and grandmother to 4 (almost 5), she loves to spend time with her family. When not painting, she enjoys traveling, tennis, golf, cooking, sewing and anything crafty!
